“I don’t think I ever stopped being beautiful.
I think I just rested.
They say I was coaxed out, prepared, gently reminded. But really, it wasn’t about getting up or stepping forward. It was about remembering.
I didn’t leap from the bed. I stayed where I was, warm and known. The world came closer instead. Hands moved slowly. Voices softened. Someone took the time to look again.
I didn’t need much doing to me. Nothing was added. A little care, a little attention—that was enough. Beauty doesn’t disappear when it’s quiet. It just waits.
What brought me back wasn’t effort, or ambition, or applause. It was the feeling of being seen without being hurried. Of being invited, not demanded.
So when I stepped out of my box, it wasn’t to become something new.
It was simply to be myself again.”
